About Walk Spain

David Johnston has been operating WalkSpain guided walks from the village of Yunquera since 2003. To the best of our knowledge we are the only walk guiding service operating on these unbeaten tracks of the Sierra de Las Nieves (the Snowy Mountains).

It is our philosophy to minimise the negative aspects of tourism on our village and the surrounding countryside while providing maximum benefit to the local people. Local buses (An essential service to the people of the Natural Park) are used to service some walk routes to minimize car impact and help justify their continued existence.

Our local hotel, www.hostalasencio.com is family run. During day one of a WalkSpain walking holiday we show our visitors where local produce can be bought during a village orientation tour.

We are a small home-run business. We sell only guiding services. We do, however, assist our clients in planning their holidays using our local contacts with the hotel, restaurants, and vehicle hire providers. We do not profit financially from these connections.

Unlike many guided walking companies we remain available to assist you with making the most of your holiday from your arrival at the airport to your departure. Our knowledge of the Spanish language and customs helps to ensure that your visit is comfortable and thoroughly enjoyable. We believe our guide, David Johnston, is the best in the business.
